This year's big obsession was mainly with three designers: Cristian Louboutin, Alexander McQueen, and Herve Leger.
Many others too of course. A lot to do with Vivienne Westwood, Jeffrey Campbell, Hermes, Fendi.
But the top three were the top three this year.
Everyone seems to have been hunting for a pair of Louboutin shoes, one of the beautiful Herve Leger dresses and at least a ring or a clutch as well as a scarf from Alexander McQueen.
I myself had been in love with these three. Perhaps that's why it seemed to me like there was such a fuss about them, because those were the names I noticed. Anyway I had been dreaming of Louboutin shoes since probably summer-autumn 2011 and finally my parents got me a pair for my 16th. The most magnificent pair of shoes I have EVER seen. My idea is that if you are getting a pair of expensive, top designer shoes, you get something really worth the money. You get something flashy, visible, something to wear out. My parents were obviously of the same ideas, because they got me the most flashy, yet elegant pair the shop possessed. They also got me the most beautiful matching clutch. Absolutely gorgeous. I've only worn the shoes twice, but I see myself wearing them more in the summer.
As well as that my eye had fallen on Herve Leger. His dresses have always appealed to me, even before I actually knew who he was. My sister bought a lovely dress last year. We had a special shopping trip where I bought a lovely DKNY creamy-white dress and she bought an Herve Leger. At the time he wasn't so big, well not to us anyway. This year I decided to wear it for my mum's birthday and as I put it on I realized who the designer was. That was when I had the crazy desire to have an Herve Leger of my own. Something extremely beautiful. Something that was showy, yet elegant. Something that would go with my inner latino-like passion, yet not look trashy.
So for some occasion (I cannot remember which) we went shopping with my dad again and I found the perfect dress. A beautiful coral-red. It was absolutely exactly what I needed. It sat perfectly, it was bright and my favourite colour to match my inner self, and it worked well with my dark hair and set off my green eyes. And it really did look elegant. My dad loved it so much he bought it for me.
Now with Alexander McQueen I can never seem to get close enough. I always find something lovely, but never seem to get it. It's ok, I have my eye set on one of his ring-clutches <3
